INTRODUCTION
This is a high range [Valkyr] build that focuses on staying in [Hysteria] and using [Talons] for damage, zipping around with Ripline, grouping with Ripline, boosting attack speed with warcry, slowing and applying damage vulnerability with paralysis.
SURVIVABILITY
Due to the recent changes with [Valkyr]'s [Hysteria] no longer providing permanent invincibility, you have two main choices for survivability.
1. Invulnerability frame abuse
[Valkyr] now has a passive based on her [Rage] meter. While you are above 150% [Rage], taking fatal damage will prevent death and give 5s invulnerability (similar to [Nidus]) but drain all your [Rage]. Technically if you are able to quickly kill a couple of enemies within that 5s and regain at least 150% range you should be able to stay completely immortal anyway. You can run Catalyzing Shield + Augur mod as backup shield gating for any instances where you happen to drop below 150% [Rage] and are not close enough to enemies to regain [Rage]. Here, simply spamming ripline into walls can keep you immortal too as you have a 1.33s iframe upon shield break and catalyzing shield causes you to regain that 1.33s iframe instantly upon casting ripline (currently bugged to give the full 1.33s despite only generating partial shields).
- EHP Tanking
[Valkyr]'s health and armor stats have been buffed even more and clearly DE intends for us to utilise this for survivability too. If you prefer a more comfortable time particularly in non-endurance missions, just slap on [Adaptation] and consider adding [Umbral Vitality] over [Augur Reach] (will need more forma). Arcane Blessing or Arcane Reaper are nice considerations over Molt Augmented too. You should be able to comfortably tank even up to level 1000 or higher with Valkyr.

UPDATE JUNE 2025
Ripline now groups enemies making [Prolonged Paralysis] grouping redundant, and also auto melee attacks on cast. Ripline can also be used to quickly traverse the map. [Hysteria] no longer makes you invulnerable but instead you get a death gate (5s invulnerability) when above 150% [Rage] and you take fatal damage. Paralysis now gives a 50% damage vulnerability (Scaling with strength). Valkyrs base armor has been buffed and now we can drop [Primed Flow] and rely just on Arcane Battery for energy (even hits over 500 base for Violet Shard boost). Warcry is also recastable and has a increased base duration meaning Eternal War is now optional for quality of life.
UPDATE 2025
Exalted mods can now run acolyte mods/galvanized mods and arcanes meaning [Valkyr] is even stronger than before and has more options available. Gladiator statsticks have also been removed.
Update Aug 2024
With the armor cap, armor strip is no longer as mandatory for [Talons] to oneshot and in fact, you can even use a passive companion primer to partially strip armor (e.g. via corrosive or heat status procs). Nourish can give both a boost to raw [Talons] damage and boost energy gained from all sources, including the major source via [Equilibrium] + [Synth Deconstruct]. Arcane Battery is optional but is able to give a ton of extra energy capacity. [Archon Flow] is slotted for the option of corrosive cold [Talons] and also conditional armor from warcry does not allow violet melee crit damage shard to work.
PLAYSTYLE
- Activate [Hysteria] and use any combination of slide attacks, neutral block combo or just ripline attacks. Slide attacks have very high damage multipliers and hit all grouped enemies multiple times (6 x 300% multiplier or 2250% per second). The neutral block combo now also has a high average multiplier (1063% per second).
- Tap 2 to cast Warcry and keep active as required. This is now recastable and has a decent base duration so you don't need to run [Eternal War] if you don't want to.
- Tap 3 to cast paralysis to apply both slow and damage vulnerability on enemies
- Tap 1 on enemies to cast Ripline to group enemies and initiate and automatic attack, or tap 1 on a surface to swing quickly to it to traverse maps

BUILD SPECIFICS
Duration
Maintain neutral to positive duration to reduce drain of [Hysteria] and give uptime to Warcry
Efficiency
You can adjust this to your playstyle and mission type. If there is high enemy density, team mates with energy generation or you are not casting much, you can run 45% efficiency and be fine while at 1000+ energy with arcane battery. [Seismic Bond] on a pet can give you a free 30% efficiency while [Hysteria] is active. If you like to cast alot or are having issues with energy, swap [Blind Rage] for [Transient Fortitude].
Range
Maximum range maximises the grouping range of Ripline and the range of Paralysis.
Strength
More strength boosts Warcry speed boost (and armor which indirectly gives more energy via Arcane Battery) and Hysteria damage.
Aura
- Corrosive Projection in a vacuum reduces armor by 18% which is equivalent to a 1.8x damage multiplier
- Steel charge is good for saving mod capacity/forma and provides a small boost to talons damage.
- Swift momentum is great for maintaining combo duration
- Growing power also slightly boosts talons damage and warcry speed boost
- Enemy radar to improve positioning by knowing where enemies are on minimap further away
Exilus
Completely flexible:
- Cunning Drift gives a bit more range
- Preparation is good for speedrunning missions so you start of at maximum energy
Arcanes
Arcane Battery - synergizes with warcry and hysteria (gives armor) to give even more energy pool.
Fury - boosts melee damage but will be additive to dmg mods on talons e.g. condition overload/primed pressure point
Augmented - more strength
Strike - boosts attack speed
Energize - helps maintain energy to stay in hysteria but expensive
Archon Shards
One Cast speed shard optional to speed up casting of Ripline/Paralysis.
Rest into Tauforged Violet Melee Crit damage shards
HELMINTH OPTONS
Helminth over 3 since 1 has grouping without augment and great mobility.
Roar
Roar boosts damage and double dips status effects which is very good for the electric influence and gas afflictions variants.
Nourish
Nourish is an excellent subsume that provides bonus raw Viral damage to claws and significantly increases energy gain to sustain [Hysteria].
Silence
Against infested, you will want to use Silence to block ancient disruptors since they will take all your energy while you are in [Hysteria]. You may want to add more duration by replacing [Fleeting Expertise] with [Constitution]. This also prevents Violence from dispelling your warcry.
Armor strip
Armor strip gives an effective 10x boost against armored enemies (or 5.5x boost with corrosive projection on)
- Tharros Strike: works well along side [Prolonged Paralysis] since you can group them first then strip. A single cast full strips both shields and armor in one cast with low strength threshold (200 str at default, 164 str with corro projection), works on acolytes and demolysts and is cheap to cast
- Pillage: radial but line of sight with huge range, requires alot of strength to full strip (400% without [Corrosive Projection] and 328% with), or multiple casts otherwise to strip. This also cleanses status and provides shields, both of which are kind of useless in [Hysteria] but does have some meme benefit to Paralysis which converts shields to damage. Also means you could run Melee Retaliation in arcane slot.

Tennokai Stick
You can put all tennokai mods onto a melee with passive movement bonus e.g. [Praedos], [Okina] and benefit from those tennokai mods as long as [Discipline's Merit] is equipped on [Talons].
Primer
A primary primer like [Cedo] or secondary primer such as [Kuva Nukor] and [Epitaph] are great for providing an outside source of status effects to boost condition overload on Talons as well as applying armor strip/viral status. You can then end up with between 5 to 9 elements affecting enemies, meaning talons damage can be boosted by between 400 to 720%. Here are two primer builds:
