This is a precision [Daikyu] designed to hit for super strong gas dots, this setup in particular uses [Aero Periphery] to aid in hitting those precise shots as easy as possible. The "Sleeping Gas" Daikyu v2

__

Why do we use?

Acuity? -- Combines with passive weakpoint c chance (250%) for a final 280% c chance to weakpoints (potentially >300% after puncture)
Acuity vs Chamber

From the trial runs, Acuity is around 26% better for precision dps than Chamber of similar setup, since precision is Daikyu's complete focus, there is no reason not to run Acuity this time...

__

Aero Periphery -- A significant part of this pure gas build, this mod puts enemies to sleep upon dealing damage while aim gliding. This includes dots. After enemies are put to sleep, any future damage will wake them up again. This includes dots.

What's important about this is that gas dots both puts them to sleep and wakes them up again, keeping them asleep and unable to escape from our gas clouds. Because gas activates this mod on its own in an AoE radius, we don't actually have to shoot them while aim gliding, just jump, let gas aoe tick and land, and up to 5x in its radius are put to sleep.

Also, while any future damage will [Reawaken] them, note that they have to actually complete their sleep animation first, and then complete a wakeup animation before they can move, all the while they will take damage from dots and can't shoot back, which is why this mod still works----We can exploit this further by using a [Shivering Contagion] nautilus or any slow tool, keeping them stun locked with cold spread + aero periphery, and grouped in gas clouds with cordon.

  • Also opens enemies to finishers as of 35.5.3

  • oddly, occasionally targets that take damage from gas and then wake up can spaz out forever, don't know why this happens?

_

Amalgam Daikyu -- Huge headshot multiplier which is multiplicative to Acuity, lifesteal on all nikana attacks for health tanking, and arrow refund

  • *Lifesteal also applies to melee status dots which means influence lifesteal, so you can use melee influence + a ton of status duration for passive health regen with significant uptime

  • With this mod equipped, arrows stuck in enemies or on surfaces can sometimes be picked up when physically touched, along with a unique sound upon pickup. Multiple arrows fired from multishot may also be picked up, occasionally refunding more ammo than what was expended.

_

Acuity + Vital Sense + Hammer Shot -- [Daikyu] has a special +250% bonus crit chance on weakpoint hit stacking additive for 600% total CC. Since we have two forms of crit chance already, we use VS + HS for 180% double modded crit damage and significant status chance for gas.

  • Galvanized Scope is theoretically better than Hammer Shot if full stacks can be maintained.

Vile Accel -- Default fire rate, Daiku is very slow at base. If u have external fire rate, this is also swappable for above^^

Malignant Force + Thermite Rounds? -- This 60/60 combo is around 8% better for headshot DPS than Gas 90/90

Sharpshot? -- Multiplicative to base damage, but is not multiplicative to aptitude due cuz of its order in operations

Bane is flexible for Vile Accel, G Scope, or [Serration] if applying flex stat externally.

Why Gas?

We use gas for double headshot scaling and crowd dps. Gas is limited to x10 stacks so it is most useful on per shot max damage setups which fits the bow category. We have Amalgam [Daikyu] + Sharpshot for super high headshot scaling
The status effect of gas activates instantly, and its 'gas cloud' mechanic functions as its own instance of damage. This essentially says that in order for gas to functionally spread not only its damage but its status effect to additional enemies, gas must inherit its own set of 'enemy body part multipliers'. We can abuse this with anything that alters said multipliers, (such as the 75% headshot bonus from Amalgam), in which gas will apply the given bonus to itself a second time or squared

Formula for Acuity x Amalgam^2 Gas Headshots looks like this;

Gas can easily be traded for pure electric with dual mods if preferred.

GAS ONLY BENEFITS FROM WEAKPOINT BONUSES ONCE

Why dont we use?

Update! I have swapped Aptitude with [Amalgam Serration] as not only is it additive to LBSS, Aptitude also has a extremely low 50% CO effectiveness, making it significantly worse in all cases.

Chamber? -- Simply worse than Acuity because of [Daikyu Prime]'s focus on precision
