Using the sacrificial melee set here is very effective. With a bit of elemental alchemy, you can use radiation, gas or corrosive on top of cold depending on your use of the weapon.

This is my hard hiting muit crit build thanks to melee duplicate.

Now because this weapon inflicts tau, a galvanized elementalist build is also recommended. I use electricity/gas a lot when it comes to elemental damage builds. Toxin/blast for when the weapon has high attack speed and damage consistency.
