Why do we use?

Shimmering Blight -- Heavy attack with 600% damage that forces knockdown; as in Afflictions.

EMPTY SLOT is reserved for Amanata Pressure -- Heavy attacks at 8x combo apply a random status effect to all enemies struck. Also gives an incredible 330% base damage.
|
This augment was designed for Afflictions, for that it is build defining second only to Harmony. Afflictions is basically a 6x multiplier to this passive, absolute PERFECTION!

Opportunities Reach? -- Extends our heavy attack range up to 9~10 meters, and when combined with augment will force a status effect onto every enemy we hit that Afflictions will multiply 6x. Lengthened combo window gives us time to react and potentially group with an ability cast before a heavy attack.

  • This mod is flexible for YOUR favorite kai flavor. If you prefer Dicipline's Merit or Dreamers Wrath, any flavor works.

AFFLICTIONS -- Status effects that are applied during an attack that ragdolls or flings enemies (forced on all heavy attacks on Amanata), are applied x6.

  • Afflictions is a separate damage calculation, basically means faction / status damage bonuses are applied again

  • Afflictions uses the cumulative average damage of ALL status effects present per target when applying additional stacks.

    • *Think of how heat stacks merge damage, ^^This essentially says; if on a heavy [Amanata] slashes, and [Amanata] pressure rolls toxin, the inflicted damage from all procs will merge together by Afflictions into new dots, which will then be applied to the strike 6x.

From Wiki:

UNRANKED MODS are placeholders and should be swapped for GALVANIZED

Boreal's Contempt -- A mod that is multiplicative to itself. After accounting for passive buffs; For the dots we apply from augment / Afflictions are forced and not affected by chance, Boreal's Contempt will be the best option for status damage, even better than Galv Elementalist / Elementalist.

  • This also means self-multiplicative damage for natural slash dots.

Default combo mods are used for 12x scaling

P Reach -- Necessary Range

Smite -- For double dipping dots and triple dipping Afflictions, must use if able.

Quickening -- *Preference attack speed goes here

What the Hell is 'Double Dipping'?

People often use 'dipping' out of context and wrong, so i will explain. Dipping refers to when a specific value or multiplier appears in multiple damage formulas during the final damage calculation.

When it IS double dipping -- One value is applied to multiple formulas, say (1x) Our Smite multiplier appears once in base damage formula, (2x) a second time in status DoT formula, and in some cases, (x3) Smite appears a third time in the formula for Melee Influence. Our Smite mod has been therefore 'triple dipped'.

When it is NOT dipping – One value is applied to a single formula multiple times, this is when a value is squared, not double dipped. For example, and to stay with the topic, some people like to say that electric is able to double dip from enemy part multipliers and triple dip from faction bonuses, but this is not how that works. When electric counts part multipliers a second time, it is doing so in the same damage formula, so electric is squaring the bonus, not double dipping it. So in such case we would say that electric is squaring (applying twice) a headshot bonus and double dipping a faction mod.
